This document discusses better collaboration between agencies and clients. It notes that historically, agencies did not provide clients with a full understanding of the creative process or ideas, and clients did not know how to properly evaluate work. It advocates that agencies start presentations with the agreed upon creative brief to provide necessary context before presenting ideas. Agencies should tell a story that bridges the brief to the final idea, giving clients a complete understanding. The document also provides models for properly evaluating ideas and ensuring collaborative discussions between agencies and clients.

Poke Yoke, also known as mistake-proofing, refers to methods that use sensors or devices to prevent errors from occurring in manufacturing processes. There are three main poke yoke methods: contact methods detect physical contact between parts; counting methods use sensors to ensure the correct number of operations occur; and motion-sequence methods check that steps happen in the proper order. Poke yoke systems aim to minimize human errors by setting up automatic controls or warnings that stop defective items from advancing down the production line. Examples provided demonstrate how limit switches, photoelectric sensors, and color-coded lights can form part of poke yoke devices used across different industries.
Mistake proofing takes 5 common forms: preventing, pausing, notifying, minimizing, and guiding. Preventing uses design to make mistakes impossible through shapes, sizes or functions. Pausing adds hurdles to force stopping and reconsidering. Notifying informs of potential mistakes without stopping. Minimizing controls damage if a mistake occurs. Guiding suggests but does not stop, as with reminders. The document explores examples like gas nozzle sizes, car warnings, and hygiene signs.
The document discusses mistake proofing and poka-yoke techniques. It covers key aspects of a zero defect quality system including point of origin inspection, 100% audit checks, immediate feedback, and poka-yoke methods. Poka-yoke refers to using sensors or devices to detect errors and can be either control systems that shut down processes when errors are detected or warning systems that signal operators to correct issues.

Standard of living and productivity are closely linked. A higher standard of living results from greater production of goods and services, which can be increased through higher employment or higher productivity. Productivity is a measure of output per unit of input. Governments and management can take steps to improve productivity through improved technology, worker training, efficient resource use, and optimal production processes and work organization. Factors that reduce productivity include suboptimal product or process design, ineffective time management, and worker inefficiencies. Overall, increasing productivity is key to raising standards of living by making more available at lower cost.
Productivity is defined as the ratio of output to input. It measures production efficiency. Economic growth depends on inputs, while productivity increases are driven by improvements to the production function. Productivity can be improved by achieving more output with the same or less input through research and development, new equipment, simplifying products, improving methods, better planning, and increasing employee effectiveness. Productivity studies analyze technical processes and engineering relationships to increase efficiency. Automation, computerization, ergonomic design, and worker comfort can boost productivity, while labor productivity looks at average output per worker or per hour worked.
Productivity is a measure of efficiency in production. It is calculated as a ratio of output to inputs. Productivity determines the efficiency of converting resources into finished goods and services. Partial productivity measures a single input or output, while total productivity takes a systematic approach integrating all factors. Improving productivity increases profits, lowers costs, and makes an organization more competitive. Methods to improve productivity include reducing ineffective time, improving products/processes, training employees, and using incentives.
The document discusses various tips and tools for improving productivity. It recommends setting actionable goals and focusing on the 20% of tasks that yield 80% of results. Specific productivity apps like Things 2, OmniFocus, and TeuxDeux are reviewed for task and project management. Other tips include practicing inbox zero, decluttering one's desk, and using the Pomodoro technique to focus work in timed intervals separated by short breaks.
The document defines poka-yoke as a Japanese term meaning "mistake-proofing" and discusses its use in manufacturing to eliminate defects. Poka-yoke aims to prevent human errors by making processes foolproof through simple mechanisms that detect and correct mistakes. The document outlines principles of mistake-proofing, types of poka-yoke devices, and how poka-yoke can be implemented at different stages of production to catch errors early.
This document provides an overview of productivity improvement techniques that can be applied in the footwear industry. It defines productivity and discusses how to measure and improve various factors of productivity, including labor, materials, machines, and capital. Japanese productivity improvement techniques like Jidoka, Heijunka, Kaizen, 5S, muda elimination, poka-yoke, SMED, just-in-time, and kanban are explained. The key is to reduce waste and continuously improve processes through small, incremental changes by workers at all levels of the organization.
