One-way marketing (interruption) is often more effective than two-way marketing (engagement) for large brands communicating with significant numbers of people. While two-way marketing aims to directly involve consumers, people generally do not care much about brands and are less likely to actively engage or participate. Examples show that memorable one-way ads like the Cadbury Gorilla commercial can be more effective at reaching large audiences with positive brand messaging than two-way social media campaigns, which typically see very low rates of actual consumer engagement. The most robust case studies continue to show traditional one-way marketing performing well compared to two-way approaches.
The colours that dresses your brand are playing an important role in how they support this personality that you want to portray. Don’t panic when a colour speaks one thing, but in the relation to the brand it delivers a slightly different response.
Check out these examples of how brands used in conveying their message through branding and banner advertisement.

Infographic: DC vs Marvel – The Battle of Brandsdomain .ME
Generations of comic book fans have argued over which superhero would come out on top in the ultimate superhero battle between DC and Marvel universe. That is one argument that we cannot resolve, but what we offer instead is a look at the battle of the brands, and seeing who is currently winning the everlasting war.
Looking back at the very beginning, DC has dominated the comic book world from the 1930s to 1960s. Slowly but surely Marvel has taken over the lead, currently holding around 47% of the total comic book market, while DC commands around 27%.
Both companies have branched out their brands into movies. With DC again paving the path with its 1966 Batman the Movie. Marvel followed 20 years later with 1986’s Howard the Duck. The new millennium saw a significant increase in interest for superhero movies and Marvel was yet again able to surpass DC, having the 3rd biggest box office hit of all-times with The Avengers franchise, while DC had the 7th biggest with The Dark Knight Rises.
The video gaming world was the next natural step for both franchisees. With yet again DC pioneering the genre with Supermen in 1979 and Marvel following shortly after with Spider-Man in 1982. DC has held the lead in this industry so far with Batman: Arkham Knight selling over 5 million copies in 2015, while Marvel’s last release The Amazing Spider-Man 2 scored only 52/100 on Metacritic.
With the arrival of the digital era, both brands moved their battlefield from newsstands to the digital marketing arena. So far Marvel has been a clear winner, generating 3.9 million in organic keyword search, in comparison to DC’s 1 million. In the social media ring, Marvel still keeps knocking DC out with a Twitter following of over 3 million, while DC was able to generate around 1.5 million followers so far. On Facebook there is no contest, Marvel’s 21 million likes pulverizes DC’s 3 million.
We will definitely keep an eye on this ongoing battle of the brands and its possible future developments. But for now, have a look at our Battle of the Brands infographic and choose for yourself which brand, Marvel or DC, is the safest bet.

I happen to love podcasts and it seems like the I’m not alone, 20% of Americans are now listening to podcasts at least once a month, that’s a lot of hours directly attached to your target audience’s brain. According to the Washington Post, there were over 1 billion podcast downloads this past year and monthly podcast listeners have reached 75 million per month. Podcasts allow individual and traditional broadcasters alike to reach younger, and more varied audiences. “People under the age of 30 don’t own radios,” noted WNYC’s CEO and president Laura Walker.
What’s great about podcasts is there are no rules, you can target a niche as specific as you like, the listening habits are so varied and what you determine as ROI is all up to you. If done correctly it’s a forum to consistently share your expertise, build your credibility in a very intimate medium. When you have a direct relationship with your listener you can do really interesting things to build your brand. There’s nothing more intimate than being allowed to whisper in someones ear on a regular basis

There are many activities and methods addressing business (project and strategic) planning and execution, however the planning cycle still remains flawed and sub-optimal.
-46% of business failures stem from misguided strategies
-More than half of all business projects are still failing
- One third of firms fail to achieve expected results from annual strategic plans
Leading organisations are getting in front of the planning cycle to positively influence project delivery and positive business outcomes with modern approaches geared to rapidly changing and complex environments.
Many disciplines purport to be the silver bullet to deal with these issues. The reality is that most businesses are just too chaotic to handle overly robust and formal techniques – but still want to ensure the right strategies and outcomes are achieved - and by design - not chance.History may look back at the evolving discipline of modern Business Architecture as one of the keys. For that to come true though, Business Architecture, as any methodology and framework, needs to be applied in a pragmatic and lean manner to be an effective tool for today's businesses.
This presentation, given by EA's Chief Architect, looks at Business Architecture and its journey – and necessity – to support a more agile approach to enterprise design.
- Business Analysis, Business Architecture and Business
- Design and where they intersect;
- What is the value of each?
- Where does the problem lie?
- What is currently working and what is failing;
- Where can we position the discipline to be the most effective in the organization, and have the greatest amount of impact on the strategic outcomes?
- What are the first steps to escalate the visibility and mandate of the discipline?
- What training is available and where does it get me?
