Startup Metrics: The Data That Will Make or Break Your Business by Alistair C...Lean Startup Co.
If you’re being methodical about growth, analytics matters. For startups, analytics is about measuring the right metric, in the right way, to produce the change the business needs most at that point in time. That’s harder than it sounds: you need a solid understanding of your business model; an awareness of what’s most at risk; and a clear idea of where to draw the line between success and failure. Metrics measure not only the health of your business, but also your journey to product/market fit; the value of your company; and the reliability of your underlying infrastructure. Join Lean Analytics co-author Alistair Croll for an all-day, in-depth look at analytics, measurement, and working with data. We’ll cover:
The five stages of growth every company goes through, and how they guide your choice of metrics
Six business-model archetypes and their unique measurement challenges
What “good enough” looks like for fundamental metrics
How to think about cohorts, segments, percentiles, and histograms
Measuring and aggregating infrastructure KPIs such as latency and availability
Using the Lean Analytics cycle to improve through experimentation
This workshop is relevant for people working in standalone startups and for corporate entrepreneurs. It will combine presentations, case studies, and interactive discussion of the audience’s specific measurement challenges. Attendees need not be technical but should come armed with a basic understanding of web analytics, business metrics, and their current business model, plus a willingness to share with one another.
This document outlines Melissa Perri's presentation on creating effective MVP experiments. The presentation covers:
1. Defining what an MVP is and why they are important for validating assumptions before building fully.
2. Guidance on setting up MVP experiments, including defining the customer and problem, investigating assumptions, designing tests, measuring results, and iterating.
3. Different types of MVPs (e.g. concierge, wizard of oz, landing page) and when each is most appropriate.
4. Adapting MVP experiments based on customer feedback and constraints.
5. How MVP experiments can be incorporated into agile development processes using short sprint cycles.

"It's ok, we have good open and click rates." How many times have you heard that from a client or colleague? A campaign's success is often based on a handful of metrics, but these rarely give a well-rounded portrait of true customer engagement.
Are open rates declining on mobile? Have desktop and webmail opens increased? How long do subscribers actually spend reading each message?
In this actionable webinar, we dive into the other (often more) important metrics your team should be using to develop your clients' emails.
M Dot Extinction: The Next Evolution of Mobile WebMobify
The technology world is facing an extinction – m.dot sites are slowly but surely dying out, and for good reason.
A survey of the Internet Retailer 500 found that m.dot sites for ecommerce dropped from 79% in 2013 to 59% in 2014, and the trend continues. While numbers still need to be confirmed for this past year, m.dot sites were expected to lose 50% share in 2015.
Unlike the dinosaur extinction 65 million years ago, for which the reasons are still widely debated, m.dots are an outdated technology and the reasons for their demise are clear. While m.dots were a huge improvement to serving the desktop site to mobile shoppers, they have failed to evolve with customers’ rising expectations and advancements in technology.
Download our M.dot Extinction Storybook to learn the 5 reasons that m.dot sites are disappearing.

One of the biggest mistakes businesses make when they first venture into content marketing is a lack of strategy. Discover to how understanding audience's intent on Search and on Social Media can help you build a holistic content marketing strategy that works.
In this presentation by Daniel Hochuli, you'll learn:
- Why same content published on both search and social media often fails to deliver results.

- How to intelligently report content marketing success using audience metrics.

11 pre and post launch mobile app marketing pitfalls to avoid Expert Seo

Search engine optimization, or SEO, is the leading method of internet marketing used to attract relevant visitors to your website. SEO techniques ensure that your website is highly ranked on search results for queries related to your business.
Hello mobile application developers! do you know how to promote an app ?Rapidsoft Technologies
App stores of both Android and iOS are nearly flooding. Together they have more than 2 million apps for smartphones and tablet devices, but not all of them are performing well.
With the market for apps being extremely crowded and the quality bar rising continuously, the era of the get rich quick apps have long gone by and the real challenge for the marketers/ App Entrepreneur is to gain a significant mindshare of their user base.
This is where the significance of Mobile App retention comes in. With so many apps to download and use on the app store, most of the apps get lost among the collection of apps downloaded by the user or gets deleted soon after download. It is estimated that in case of most apps within a period of 3 months, over ¾th of their customer base is long gone, which in all sense affects your ARPU and in turn your net revenue.
App Entrepreneurs have a retention problem rather than a discovery problem. The ASO techniques are extremely important in getting apps visibility on the app store and maybe a few downloads but with the plethora of apps on the app store and the relatively low barrier to delete an app from a mobile, the major challenge for an app maker/ marketer is to increase the user retention and with it the Lifetime value of their users.

App developers are increasingly spending more on advertising, moving away from CPM and CPC models towards cost-per-install (CPI) models. CPI is believed to be more cost-effective with better lead quality. However, incentivized CPI leads to poor lead quality and retention as users download apps for rewards rather than interest. The document recommends using non-incentivized CPI to acquire interested users and discusses how to properly implement mobile app postback tracking.

PERSONALIZATION.
6. HERE ARE A FEW WAYS TO
ACCOMPLISH PERSONALIZATION
(That don’t take a lot of time)
7. 1. SEND A PUSH MESSAGE TO USERS
BASED ON THEIR LOCATION
Geotargeted push messages are a
nice way to tell users, “Hey, I know
you. Here’s something really relevant
for you based on your location.”
REAL-LIFE APP DOING IT RIGHT:
ProximiT, a Boston MBTA tracking app,
sends me push messages whenever I’m
near my favorite T stops so I never have
to worry about missing my train.
8. 2. TRACK USERS’ RECENT ACTIONS
INSIDE YOUR APP
REAL-LIFE APP DOING IT RIGHT:
Spotify always remembers the last
action taken within the app, right down
to the playlist or song selected so I can
just pick right back up where I left off.
If your app remembers the last action
someone took while using it, it creates a
better user experience. Why? People get
distracted and it’s nice to seamlessly pick
back up where you left off, especially if
you were interacting with something
within the app.
9. 3. USE A PERSON’S NAME WHEN YOU
COMMUNICATE WITH THEM
REAL-LIFE APP DOING IT RIGHT:
Bank of America does a great job of
personalizing my app experience,
populating my name every time I
interact with them.
Everyone likes to feel special,
especially if they engage with a brand
on a regular basis. Addressing a user
by name in your app is a quick
win in personalization.
10. 4. POPULATE PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED
ITEMS
REAL-LIFE APP DOING IT RIGHT:
Amazon always has my previous order history,
recently viewed items, and recommendations
handy upon opening their app. They make it
easy to repurchase, which is why they have all
my money.
eCommerce apps take note: Saving relevant
user history, including preferences and past
purchases, will make users more inclined to
continually convert. Apps are meant to be task-
oriented, and the simpler and more intuitive
you can make the task, the more likely users
will complete it again.
11. 5. SEND EMAILS WITH RECENTLY
VIEWED ITEMS
Create a cross-channel experience by
tapping into email. This will allow you
to reengage with users beyond your
app, and boost retention through
personalization.
REAL-LIFE APP DOING IT RIGHT:
Glassdoor populates highly relevant
