Infographic: DC vs Marvel – The Battle of Brandsdomain .ME
Generations of comic book fans have argued over which superhero would come out on top in the ultimate superhero battle between DC and Marvel universe. That is one argument that we cannot resolve, but what we offer instead is a look at the battle of the brands, and seeing who is currently winning the everlasting war.
Looking back at the very beginning, DC has dominated the comic book world from the 1930s to 1960s. Slowly but surely Marvel has taken over the lead, currently holding around 47% of the total comic book market, while DC commands around 27%.
Both companies have branched out their brands into movies. With DC again paving the path with its 1966 Batman the Movie. Marvel followed 20 years later with 1986’s Howard the Duck. The new millennium saw a significant increase in interest for superhero movies and Marvel was yet again able to surpass DC, having the 3rd biggest box office hit of all-times with The Avengers franchise, while DC had the 7th biggest with The Dark Knight Rises.
The video gaming world was the next natural step for both franchisees. With yet again DC pioneering the genre with Supermen in 1979 and Marvel following shortly after with Spider-Man in 1982. DC has held the lead in this industry so far with Batman: Arkham Knight selling over 5 million copies in 2015, while Marvel’s last release The Amazing Spider-Man 2 scored only 52/100 on Metacritic.
With the arrival of the digital era, both brands moved their battlefield from newsstands to the digital marketing arena. So far Marvel has been a clear winner, generating 3.9 million in organic keyword search, in comparison to DC’s 1 million. In the social media ring, Marvel still keeps knocking DC out with a Twitter following of over 3 million, while DC was able to generate around 1.5 million followers so far. On Facebook there is no contest, Marvel’s 21 million likes pulverizes DC’s 3 million.
We will definitely keep an eye on this ongoing battle of the brands and its possible future developments. But for now, have a look at our Battle of the Brands infographic and choose for yourself which brand, Marvel or DC, is the safest bet.
We held the largest ever Virtual SlideShare Summit a week back, if you missed it here's your chance to hear from the experts once more on some of the takeaways on presentation design and SlideShare Marketing
This document discusses better collaboration between agencies and clients. It notes that historically, agencies did not provide clients with a full understanding of the creative process or ideas, and clients did not know how to properly evaluate work. It advocates that agencies start presentations with the agreed upon creative brief to provide necessary context before presenting ideas. Agencies should tell a story that bridges the brief to the final idea, giving clients a complete understanding. The document also provides models for properly evaluating ideas and ensuring collaborative discussions between agencies and clients.
https://www.wrike.com/blog - We surveyed creative teams to discover their biggest challenges and bottlenecks, from conception to completion. And what we discovered was: creative teams have to organize requests, listen to feedback, and seek approvals, all while trying to incorporate their own creative vision, making it difficult to prioritize and meet deadlines. Check out the details in our Slideshare.
Building an enduring, multi-billion dollar consumer technology company is hard. As an investor, knowing which startups have the potential to be massive and long-lasting is also hard. From both perspectives, identifying companies with this potential is a combination of “art” and “science” — the art is understanding how products work, and the science is knowing how to measure it. At the earliest stages of a company, it comes down to understanding how a product is built to maximize and leverage user engagement.
In this presentation, Sarah Tavel shares her "Hierarchy of Engagement" framework she uses to evaluate non-transactional consumer companies she is looking to invest in.
If you are like many people, even the thought of delivering a speech in front of an audience will get your palms sweating. The fear of public speaking ranks high among the most common phobias, and for good reason: most of us approach the situation with the wrong mindset, which in turn makes us live out our worst fears in a public forum.
As Michael Parker notes in IT’S NOT WHAT YOU SAY: How to Sell Your Message When It Matters Most (A TarcherPerigee paperback; on sale January 2016), our fixation on the content of our words – and not the presentation of ourselves – is what brings us down. Once the Vice-Chairman of London’s Saatchi & Saatchi, and one of the world’s most experienced advertising pitch men, having made more than 1,000 pitches in his successful career, Parker has learned first-hand that an effective presentation, a job interview, or even a speech at a wedding hinges on our ability to portray ourselves as passionate, relatable, and collected. But, if we are focused on what we say, and not how we act, we will fail to persuade our audience.
Applied in the boardroom, at the pulpit, or even in conversation, these tenets will help you present better in any situation.

Rand Fishkin discusses why content marketing often fails and provides 5 key reasons: 1) Unrealistic expectations of how content marketing works, 2) Creating content without a community to amplify it, 3) Focusing on content creation but not amplification, 4) Ignoring search engine optimization, and 5) Giving up too soon and not allowing time for content to gain traction. He emphasizes that content marketing is a long-term process of building relationships and that most successful content took years of iteration before gaining significant reach.
We all know that incredible outcomes are only ever the result of brave choices. But being brave means giving yourself room to fail. Fail spectacularly and fail often. And for that failure to not be the kind of thing you lose your job over.
Which means you need to build room for mistakes into your process so you can fail forwards, keep being brave, and make some exceptional stuff as a result.

Following these steps puts a contractor ahead of others who do not follow up in 73% of cases.

Here are 11 secrets about email marketing that you might find useful:
Personalization is key: The more personalized your emails are, the more likely they are to be opened and engaged with. Use the recipient's name and other information you have about them to make the email feel more relevant and targeted.
Segmentation is important: Rather than sending the same email to your entire list, consider segmenting your list based on common characteristics (such as location, interests, etc.) and sending more targeted emails. This can lead to higher engagement and conversion rates.
Subject lines matter: The subject line is the first thing your recipients will see, so make sure it's clear, concise, and compelling. A good subject line can be the difference between an email being opened or deleted.
Timing is crucial: Consider the best time to send your emails based on your audience's habits and preferences. For example, if you have a business-to-business (B2B) audience, you might have better luck sending emails during business hours.
Mobile optimization is essential: More and more people are accessing their emails on their phones, so it's important to make sure your emails are optimized for mobile viewing. This includes using a responsive design and keeping the content concise and easy to read on a small screen.
Don't overdo it: While it's important to stay in touch with your audience, sending too many emails can lead to fatigue and unsubscribes. Consider the frequency of your emails and make sure you're not overwhelming your subscribers.
A/B testing can help: Use A/B testing to try out different subject lines, calls to action, and other elements of your emails to see what works best. This can help you optimize your emails for higher engagement and conversion rates.
Use alt tags for images: Not all email clients show images by default, so it's important to use alt tags to describe the content of your images. This will help your emails make sense even if the images don't load.
Make it easy to unsubscribe: While it's never fun to see someone unsubscribe from your list, it's important to make it easy for people to do so if they want to. This can help reduce complaints and improve the overall reputation of your emails.
Keep an eye on your analytics: Use email marketing software or Google Analytics to track the success of your campaigns. This can help you identify what's working and what's not, and make adjustments accordingly.
Always follow spam laws: Make sure you are familiar with spam laws, such as the CAN-SPAM Act in the US, and always follow them when sending emails. This can help ensure that your emails are delivered and avoid any legal issues.
This document provides 10 tips for creating better, higher converting emails and campaigns. Boost Your Business Sales with the Power of AI & SEO
In the rapidly evolving digital landscape, harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is essential for businesses aiming to boost sales. Combining these two powerful tools can drive more traffic to your website, increase conversions, and elevate your overall marketing strategy.
The Role of AI in SEO
Artificial Intelligence involves using advanced algorithms and machine learning to analyze data and automate processes that typically require human intelligence. In SEO, AI can enhance various aspects:
Keyword Research: AI tools analyze vast amounts of data to identify high-performing keywords and trends. This helps you target the right keywords, ensuring your content ranks higher on search engines.
Content Optimization: AI can generate content ideas based on user preferences and trending topics. This ensures your content is relevant, engaging, and optimized for search engines, improving your site’s visibility.
User Experience: AI analyzes user behavior to provide insights on improving site navigation, loading speed, and overall user experience, all of which are critical factors for SEO.
Voice Search Optimization: With the rise of voice-activated devices, optimizing for voice search is crucial. AI helps understand natural language patterns, ensuring your content is voice search-friendly.
Implementing AI and SEO Strategies
To effectively leverage AI and SEO, follow these steps:
Invest in AI Tools: Utilize AI-powered tools for keyword research, content creation, and data analysis. Tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, and HubSpot offer AI features to enhance your SEO efforts.
Focus on Quality Content: Create high-quality, relevant content that addresses your audience’s needs. Use AI insights to identify trending topics and optimize your content for SEO.
Optimize for Mobile and Voice Search: Ensure your website is mobile-friendly and optimized for voice search. Mobile and voice search are becoming increasingly popular, and optimizing for these can boost your SEO rankings.
Monitor and Adjust: Regularly monitor your AI and SEO performance using analytics tools. Adjust your strategies based on data insights to continuously improve your results.
Conclusion
Combining AI and SEO is a game-changer for businesses looking to boost their sales. By leveraging AI’s data-driven insights and SEO’s visibility enhancement, you can attract more targeted traffic, provide personalized experiences, and ultimately increase your conversions. Start implementing AI and SEO strategies today and watch your business sales soar!
SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is the process of improving a website’s visibility on search engines like Google. It involves optimizing the content, structure, and technical aspects of a site to make it more attractive to search engines. The goal is to rank higher in search results, which can drive more traffic to your site.
There are several factors why your business needs SEO. Higher visibility in search results means more potential customers can find your business. In today’s digital world, people rely heavily on search engines to find information, products, and services. If your website doesn’t appear in the top results, you’re missing out on valuable traffic and potential sales.
The benefits of SEO are numerous. It can increase website traffic, improve brand awareness, and generate leads and sales. SEO also builds trust and credibility with your audience. Unlike paid advertising, the effects of good SEO are long-lasting and provide ongoing returns.
