(PART 2 OF 2) Off - Campus Practice Teaching PortfolioErwin Manzon
My cooperating teacher, Mr. Aldrin C. Abalos became my mentor for almost two months. He really guides me and lets me experience the actual teaching-learning settings. I had many learnings acquired from him, especially in enhancing my teaching strategies and demonstrations, how to handle students with different personalities, what relationship should we possess to our students and I learned a real life task which I will have to know how to perform in a sooner future when I start teaching.
I really enjoyed teaching and practicing my profession in my cooperating school because teachers, faculty and staff welcomed and accepted us wholeheartedly, especially to our cooperating teachers. Coliling National High School has a standard education. Most teachers of Coliling National High School are truly great and dedicated teachers, teachers whom I find very inspiring. They are always there to guide and mentor us student teachers in terms of difficulties. They always give their time, patience, kindness and most of all their help and support.
This day, I fully realized that I am really meant for teaching profession because of the unforgettable experiences that I had encountered during the field study courses, especially the actual teaching experiences. I am thankful to be a teacher. The simplest answer to the question “Why?” is because I love it. I love it because it helps me to grow as a human being. It has created meaning in my life. Indeed, it is a daily realization. It is not easy. It is hard, disappointing, frustrating, and ultimately, powerful to make a difference in the life of my students.

Yes, while observing the preschool learners, I recalled my own experiences when I was their age. Some similarities I noticed are:
- I was also very active and liked moving around a lot just like the preschoolers I observed. It was hard for me to sit still for long periods.
- I enjoyed playing, drawing, singing and dancing just as the preschoolers seemed to. Creative activities held my interest the most.
Some differences could be the availability of more technology now compared to when I was young. Preschoolers now may be more exposed to gadgets than I was at that age. Overall, observing the preschoolers brought back memories of my own childhood. It helped me better understand their developmental

Accounting involves recording business transactions, preparing three key financial reports (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement), and analyzing these reports to make informed decisions. The income statement examines revenues, expenses and profit over a period. The balance sheet outlines what a business owns (assets) and owes (liabilities), and owner's equity. The cash flow statement shows where cash comes from through operating, investing and financing activities and is important because profit does not always mean cash. Understanding these reports is essential for evaluating a business's performance and financial position.
The document discusses organizational objectives and strategy. It defines different types of objectives like corporate, departmental, and individual objectives. It also explains the difference between visions and missions, aims and objectives, and strategies and tactics. Finally, it outlines typical strategic objectives like profit maximization and growth and gives examples of tactical objectives like survival and sales revenue maximization.
Businesses exist to satisfy the needs and wants of people, organizations, and governments. The United States education system is in need of change and reform. It has declined since the 1970s with lower graduation rates than ever before. Other countries like China and South Korea have rapidly expanded their education systems and are graduating more engineers. Compared to other nations, fewer US students take advanced science and math courses. High school dropout rates are also a problem, with negative outcomes for those who don't graduate like unemployment, poverty and poor health. President Obama wants education reform to better motivate and prepare students for 21st century success.

African Americans: College Majors and Earnings
1. African Americans:
College Majors and
Earnings
Anthony P. Carnevale, Megan L. Fasules, Andrea Porter,
Jennifer Landis-Santos
February 9, 2016
2. Overview
• Access to college for African Americans has
increased, but African Americans are highly
concentrated in lower-paying majors
• African Americans, who represent 12 percent of the
U.S. population, are underrepresented in the number
of degree holders in college majors associated with
the fastest-growing, highest-paying occupations—
STEM, health, and business
3. Since 2009, African Americans have gained ground in
social sciences, psychology and social work, and health
4. Earnings vary greatly among college majors
• African Americans who earned a Bachelor’s degree in
a STEM related major, such as architecture or
engineering, can earn as much as 50 percent more
than African Americans who earned a Bachelor’s
degree in art or psychology and social work
5. Architecture and engineering is the major group with the highest
median earnings for African Americans with a Bachelor’s degree
6. Majors and earnings
African Americans account for 12 percent of all Bachelor’s degree holders
who majored in psychology and social work, and only 5 percent of architecture
and engineering majors
7. African American representation is low in the fastest-growing fields
African Americans who majored in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences and
administration have the highest median earnings at $84,000
8. National top ten median earnings for African
Americans with Bachelor's degrees
9. African Americans tend to be overrepresented in low-earning majors
Majors associated with serving the community, including human services and
community organization (20%) and social work (19%), are highly represented
10. Conclusion
• Careful career planning is especially crucial for all African
American students to help them avoid debt and
underemployment later in life
• African Americans who choose majors in well-paying, growing
fields are likely to be better positioned to get higher paying
jobs, acquire less student debt and nurture future generations
